Ever wonder what made Jack Nicklaus the greatest golfer of all time?
Ever wonder if Jack Nicklaus thought different than his competitors?
The Golf Channel is airing “Jack” this week as a salute to the greatest golfer of all time and to recognize that Jack is the greatest winner at the Masters.
Jack Nicklaus won 6 Green Jackets. More than anyone ever.
The big question is why was Jack so dominate at Augusta National. While there are a variety of reasons, one stands out in the mental game category–Jack Loves Augusta National. Because he loves this course, he plays better there.
On the flip side, Lee Trevino has stated that Augusta National never fit his eye and he was not a fan of the course. Lee Trevino is a hall-of-famer, and an all-time great, but he never won a Green Jacket.
This is an important mental game fundamental–Make every course your favorite. You can always find something you like about a course. When you like a course, you are more likely to play better there, and when you don’t like a course, the opposite is true.
Be Like Jack and make every course your favorite, and your game will rise to the occasion!
